More “Good News” Stories from the Coronavirus Outbreak

Here are a few more good news stories from the outbreak.

1.  The U.S. Postal Service has expanded its annual Operation Santa program this year, and made it all virtual because of the pandemic.  They’re going to take in more wish lists than ever from children in need this year, and pass those letters along to people who want to buy them the things they’re asking for.  You can start “adopting” letters online starting December 4th.

2.  A coronavirus patient in Utah who’s intubated and can’t speak was able to play his violin to bring some joy to the ICU.  He’s still on a ventilator now, but doctors are working to wean him off of it.

3.  Vermont is one of the states that’s handling the pandemic the best, and one big reason is because they offered financial assistance from the beginning.  That’s included giving people hazard pay, meal deliveries, and rooms in motels so they can isolate.

4.  A guy in Nashville, Tennessee who calls himself the Free Pizza Dude takes donations online to deliver pizzas to strangers who need food during this challenging time.  He’s sent out almost 4,000 pizzas so far.
