A Dozen People Formed a Human Chain to Save a Guy From a Burning Truck

The driver of an 18-wheeler lost control on a highway last Friday because of the snow, and got into a nasty crash near Bedford, Pennsylvania.  (About 100 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.)  His truck went sideways, crashed through a guardrail, and ended up teetering on the side of the road.  And the other side of the guardrail was a steep hill with big rocks.

A Boston Bombing Victim Who Lost Her Leg Is Going to Run the Marathon

A 35-year-old ballroom dancer named Adrianne Haslet-Davis lost her left leg from the knee down in the Boston Bombing in 2013.  But she promised herself she’d keep dancing, and she has.  She still works as a professional dancer, and also speaks at events.  And now she’s planning to follow through with another promise that might be even MORE impressive.

Who knew the key to a long life was trying to be like Cliff Clavin?  A new study found that being a regular at a small, local bar is good for you.  People who have a bar where everybody knows their name are significantly happier, have more friends, and have better life satisfaction than other people.   And believe it or not, they’re actually LESS likely to binge drink.
