Five Random Facts For Tuesday

Here are some random facts for you.

 

1.  There’s a town in western Pennsylvania called Donora, with only 6,000 people, but it’s where two of the greatest baseball players who ever lived are from.  And they were born almost 50 years apart:  Stan Musial in 1920 and Ken Griffey Jr. in 1969.

 

2.  On “Gilligan’s Island”, it’s not clear if Gilligan was his first name or his last name.  He was always just referred to as “Gilligan.”

 

3.  When George W. Bush was running for president in 1999, he was asked to name his favorite childhood book, and he picked“The Very Hungry Caterpillar”.  Turns out it was published in 1969, when he was 23.

 

4.  The “Hokey Pokey” has that name in America, Canada, Ireland, and Australia, but it’s called the “Hokey Cokey” in England and New Zealand.

 

5.  The piano that Freddie Mercury played when Queen was recording “Bohemian Rhapsody” is the same piano Paul McCartney played when The Beatles were recording “Hey Jude”.
