Here are some random facts for you.

 

1.  Bic’s ballpoint pens have a hole in the top of the cap, so if a child swallows one and it gets stuck in their throat, air can still get through. 

 

2.  The only person who authored two Constitutional amendments was a Senator from Indiana named Birch Bayh.  He was in the Senate from 1963 to 1981.  He authored the 25th amendment, which created the line of succession if the president dies, is incapacitated, or resigns, and the 26th, which lowered the voting age to 18.

 

3.  The trend of men leaving the bottom button of their suit unbuttoned started in the early 1900s, when King Edward the Seventh of England was too chubby to button the bottom of his jacket, which started a fashion trend.

 

4.  The highest rated TV movie ever was “The Day After” on ABC in 1983.  It was about a nuclear war between the U.S. and Soviet Union.  Steve Guttenberg was in it, and more than 100 million people watched.

 

5.  On men’s dress shirts, the buttons are on the right and the holes are on the left.  But on women’s shirts, it’s the opposite.  Supposedly it was to help chambermaids who dressed rich people, so they knew which shirts were for which person.
