1.  Apple started putting the letter “i” before their products when Steve Jobs introduced the iMac in 1998.  And it stood for five things:  Internet, individual, instruct, inform and inspire.

 

2.  The Grammy for Best New Artist in 1961 went to Bob Newhart, because his first comedy album “The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart” was so good.  It also won Album of the Year.  No other comedian has won either of those awards ever since.

 

3.  The smallest number that contains the letter “a” when you spell it out is one thousand.  One million is the smallest number that contains an “m.”  And one billion is the smallest with a “b.”

 

4.  Machu Picchu was built in 1450, which means it’s younger than Oxford University.

 

5.  The pie graph, line graph, and bar graph were all invented by an engineer named William Playfair from Scotland in the late 1700s.
