Five Random Facts For Wednesday

Here are some random facts for you.

 

1.  Watergate didn’t just play a role in the Nixon scandal, it also played a role in the Clinton one.  After the Monica Lewinsky news broke, she hid in her mother’s condo at the Watergate complex for a month. 

 

2.  “Balls to the wall” is actually an aviation term.  The control sticks in some military planes have a grip that’s shaped like a ball, and pilots would push them all the way to the wall in the front of the cockpit to go as fast as possible. 

 

3.  “Pomegranate” translates to “seeded apple” in Latin.

 

4.  Dos Equis sales went up 22% in the U.S. after they introduced the Most Interesting Man in the World in 2008.  

 

5.  The first diet cola was Diet Rite, in 1958.  Then in 1963, Coca-Cola released Tab and Diet Pepsi came out.  Diet Coke didn’t come out until 1982.
