Five Random Facts For Monday

Here are some random facts for you.

 

1.  There’s no road that connects North America and South America.  There’s a 100 mile swamp in Panama and northern Colombia that breaks up the Pan-American Highway.

 

2.  The entire first season of “Cheers” took place at the bar.  They didn’t have a scene anywhere else until Diane’s apartment in the first episode of the second season.

 

3.  The two countries outside America where “Schindler’s List” had the biggest box office were Germany and Japan.

 

4.  Durex condoms, Dr. Scholl’s shoe inserts, French’s mustard, Lysol, Frank’s Red Hot sauce, Clearasil, and Mucinex are all made by the same company, Reckitt Benckiser in England.

 

5.  Before Kurt Vonnegut was a famous author, he worked at “Sports Illustrated”.  But he got fired quickly when he was supposed to write an article about a race horse that escaped and only wrote one sentence:  “The horse jumped over the [effing] fence.”
