Here are some random facts for you . . .1.  Half of the gold that’s ever been found on earth comes from the Witwatersrand Basin in South Africa.

2.  The tradition of bridesmaids all wearing the same dress goes back to ancient Rome.  They’d all dress the same as the bride, to confuse any evil spirits that showed up at the wedding to snatch her away.

3.  Only two artists have ever had their first two singles make it to number one and number two on the “Billboard” chart in the same week:  The Beatles and Iggy Azalea.

4.  No one born before 1816 ever appeared in a movie.  A woman named Sarah Whitley who was born in 1816 appeared in the first film ever in 1888.  It was called “Roundhay Garden Scene”.

5.  The killers in “Silence of the Lambs”, “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” and “Psycho” are all based on the same serial killer from the ’40s and ’50s . . . a real guy named Ed Gein.  (His last name’s pronounced “Geen.”)
