Guitarist Gary Pihl, longtime member of the legendary rock band Boston, hinted at the possibility of a 2026 reunion tour in celebration of the group’s 50th anniversary. In a new interview on the Metal Mayhem ROC podcast, Pihl spoke candidly about recent activity behind the scenes – and the enduring bond between him and Boston mastermind Tom Scholz.
“Tom’s always working on songs,” Pihl revealed. “Just as in the past, he’ll call me in or one of the other guys to play their parts. Then he’ll go back into the studio and fix things, change things around.”
When asked directly about future plans, he didn’t rule anything out. “I’m hoping there will be another album and tour. Of course, next year will be the 50th anniversary of the first album, so I’m hoping that there will be a tour for that. But we’ll just have to wait and see.”
That optimism — while not confirming anything officially — offers hope to a generation of fans still passionate about Boston’s soaring harmonies, intricate guitar work, and arena-filling power. Their self-titled 1976 debut remains one of the highest-selling rock albums of all time, with hits like “More Than a Feeling” and “Peace of Mind” still staples of classic rock radio.
