5% of Americans Never Do Their Own Laundry, and 5% of People Go Days Without Washing Their Undies

Most of us do our own laundry, at least some of the time, but a few brave souls out there are relying on nothing but the smell test and vibes.

According to a new poll, 55% of people say they “always” do their own laundry, while 5% never do their own laundry and say “someone else” always does it.

9% of people claim they “love” doing laundry, and another 23% say they “like it.”  12% say they “dislike it,” and another 5% admit to “hating it.”

49% of people say they are totally neutral about doing laundry, but 77% of them care at least a little about HOW it’s done.  So, they have opinions about mixing colors, temperatures, soaps, or dryer sheets.

How often people do laundry probably depends on the size of their household, and the size of their wardrobe.  But people were also asked about how long they’re willing to wear something before washing it.

80% of people wash their underwear after wearing it ONCE.  Men were more likely than women to wear their underwear multiple times before washing it.  And overall, 5% wear their underwear “four or more times” before washing it.

55% of people wash their t-shirts after one use.  10% are willing to wear them “four or more times” before washing them.

29% of people wash their non-jean pants after one wear.  21% wear them “four or more times” before washing them.

19% of people wash their sweaters after one wear.  32% wear them “four or more times” before washing them.

16% of people wash their jeans after one wear.  36% wear them “four or more times” before washing them.  (Men are more likely than women to wear ALL of this stuff multiple times.)
