It’s a tough job market, but not EVERY job requires high-level degrees and a sharp intellect. There are plenty of jobs out there where you can make good money without burning too much brainpower.
Someone online asked, bluntly, “What job has dumb people that make good money?” And there are hundreds of responses from people in various fields. Here are some highlights:
1. Sales. This was probably the #1 answer. But even though you don’t need to be super smart, you DO need to be persistent, charismatic, and personable.
2. Real estate agents.
3. Insurance, particularly insurance sales.
4. Healthcare, but on the BUSINESS side.
5. Oil and gas drilling.
6. Longshoremen.
7. Politicians.
8. Influencers.
9. OnlyFans.
10. Law enforcement.
11. The military. One person said, “Some of the smartest people I know, I met in the Army. All of the dumbest people I know, I met in the Army.”
12. Garbage and sanitation. One worker said, “A handful of us have college degrees, it’s just that our job pays more than some of the degrees can.”
13. Management, particularly “middle management.”
14. Professional athlete. You may not need to be highly educated, but you can’t just turn your brain off.

16. Public relations.
17. Human resources.
18. Recruitment.
19. Government work. This is vague, so it probably depends on the gig. It’s possible the thinking was, “Get paid a lot, and not have to get a lot done.”
20. Drug dealing. Okay, but don’t the dumb ones get caught?
21. Manufacturing and repair, particularly in the auto industry.
22. Truck driving.
23. One person joked, “All of them, just take them out of their area of expertise.”
