In a new survey, 58% of people said that if it were practical, they’d use their “special occasion” items every single day.
79% of homeowners say they have “nice” items that are set aside for special occasions, including intricate items, like dishes and glassware.
And 64% admit they’ve never touched those items, and are just waiting for the “right” moment. About half of those people say they don’t use them because they are worried about damaging them.
Some people DO get some use out of their fancy dishes and glasses, and the most popular occasion people bring them out for is: holiday gatherings.
Anniversaries is second, followed by a marriage, “milestone” birthdays, graduating, getting engaged, having a kid (we better use it before this chaos creature breaks it!), buying your first house (or any home), having guests over, funerals, celebrating a new job, promotion, or raise, moving in with your partner, and getting divorced.
