Here are some random facts for you.
1. It’s been 30 years since M&Ms nixed the color tan. They gave the public THREE choices: Blue, purple, and pink, and obviously BLUE won. (Here’s an old ad, and here’s one from the color vote.)
It’s been almost 50 years since orange was introduced to replace red. They’d dropped red for 11 years due to the “red dye scare.” It was brought back in 1987, with a different red dye coloring, which will change again next year.
2. Billboards are banned in Vermont, and have been since 1968.
3. No one knows exactly when people started using the phrase “Jesus H. Christ”, or what the “H” stands for. But Mark Twain said in his autobiography that people were already using it when he was a kid. That would have been the mid-1800s.
4. There are NO Black majority owners of any MLB, NFL, NBA, or NHL team. Michael Jordan used to be the only one, but he sold his majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets in 2023. He retained a minority share.
