The Top Things We Steal from Hotel Rooms Include Towels, Hangers, and Remote Controls

You’re allowed to take those little bottles of shampoo from your hotel.  You can’t take EVERYTHING that’s not nailed down.

Someone polled a bunch of hotel workers to find the top things we steal from hotel rooms.  Here are the Top 10:

1.  Towels.  88% of hotel workers say they’re stolen a lot.

2.  Bathrobes.  You’re not usually allowed to take them, even at resorts or hotels with a spa.

3.  Hangers.  It’s why a lot of places have the type that can’t be removed now.

4.  Toiletries that aren’t meant to be taken.  That big bottle of shampoo strapped to the wall?  They’re hoping you leave that.

5.  Blankets.  36% said they’re stolen a lot.

6.  Pillows.  32%. Some hotels are cool with it, they’ll just charge you.  Or, buy a NEW one that hasn’t been drooled on by 500 people.

7.  Hair dryers.  27% said it happens.

8.  Pens. (???)  You’re not allowed to take the pens?

9.  Dishes.  Most hotels have water glasses.  Some have kitchenettes with plates and silverware.

10.  The remote control.  12% said TV remotes get stolen all the time.

Here are a few more things that don’t get stolen a lot, but it happens: Hotel workers have also seen people steal light bulbs, rolls of toilet paper, lamps, can openers, irons, and 1% have seen trash cans go missing.
