This is kind of like having the subtitles on, even when the movie is in English, and you have no problem understanding it.
Audible is introducing a new feature called “Read & Listen,” allowing you to read your book WHILE you’re also listening to it. (Like when you were in third grade, and you’d follow along as someone read to you.)
They say this feature was widely requested, and there is a reason. It’s supposedly a more “immersive” way to enjoy a book, where readers can boost retention and comprehension.
That makes sense. Your mind can wander as you’re reading or listening, but if you’re doing BOTH you’re pretty locked in.
Read & Listen is not available widely yet. It’s being rolled out to select users across the U.S., so it may take some time before it arrives for you. Also: You will need to have both the Kindle e-book and audiobook versions of a title to do it.
