Tomorrow is Pi Day, since the numbers 3-14 are the first three digits of pi. The next three digits are 1, 5 and 9, which could mean that peak pi time is 1:59 A.M. on March 14th, or late, late tonight.
And if you have a crazy enough Friday night, you could be popping in a frozen pizza at EXACTLY that moment. (???)
Instacart put out some frozen pizza data for Pi Day, since pizzas are pies too, and here are the highlights:
1. Pepperoni is America’s favorite. By a longshot. Pepperoni accounted for 43% of ALL the frozen pizzas sold last year, more than cheese and supreme combined.
2. Mexican and taco pizzas are growing at the fastest rate. Other frozen pizza styles that are becoming increasingly popular are: Hawaiian, chicken Alfredo, chicken bacon ranch, and kosher.
3. The Midwest is the frozen pizza capital of the U.S. The state that purchases the most frozen pizzas is Wisconsin, followed by North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky.
Hawaii orders the LEAST, followed by Florida, Washington, D.C., New Jersey, Louisiana, and California.
4. Hawaiian pizzas are most popular in the Northwest. The state that orders the most Hawaiian pizza is Oregon, followed closely by Washington, Utah, and Idaho.
Florida orders the LEAST, and Hawaii is actually in the bottom half too.
