Tears for Fears’ seminal album Songs From the Big Chair is receiving expanded 40th anniversary reissues on vinyl and CD, arriving November 14th via UMe.
The reissue campaign includes three new vinyl editions, the most notable being a 2-LP transparent red vinyl package that features the album’s original unused artwork and bonus tracks that were previously unavailable on wax. There’s also a pair of single LP editions sans bonus tracks (single LP coke bottle clear vinyl; single LP picture disc).
Meanwhile, the three-disc CD box set is the most comprehensive collection. It contains the original album and a wealth of alternate versions, single edits, and remixes (including those featured on the 2-LP release).
Tears for Fears timed the reissue announcement to coincide with the launch of their fall Las Vegas residency, which kicks off Wednesday (September 24th) at the BleauLive Theater. The duo’s previous Vegas residency setlists have included roughly half of Songs From the Big Chair: the obligatory hits “Shout” and “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” as well as a medley of “Broken” and “Head Over Heels.” Get tickets here.
