Americans Lost 241 Million Packages to Porch Pirates Last Year

On Halloween, PORCH “PIRATES” only want your candy, as opposed to the rest of the year, when porch pirates want to STEAL YOUR STUFF.

According to new research, Americans lost an estimated $15.7 BILLION to porch pirates last year alone.  That’s from 241 MILLION stolen packages.

The average loss isn’t huge.  It’s $65 per package, and 85% are under $100, but that doesn’t make the inconvenience any less infuriating.  And in some cases the loss of MONEY as well.

The most commonly stolen packages were from Amazon (72%), followed by UPS (31%), FedEx (30%), and USPS (29%).

States like New York, Hawaii, and Wisconsin report the most porch pirates, while Alabama, Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Maine report the fewest thefts.
