Happy National Chocolate Day! It Dominates the List of the First Candies We Open on Halloween

Happy National Chocolate Day!  The fact that it’s three days before Halloween seems kind of evil, right?  Did we really need another excuse?

A poll of 1,000 Americans found 79% of us eat chocolate at least once a week in general.  On Halloween week, it’s a LOT more than that.

59% say milk chocolate is their favorite type.  Dark chocolate is next, and white chocolate is a distant third.

If there’s any doubt that Halloween runs on chocolate, a recent poll by Ranker.com looked at the 10 Halloween candies we open FIRST.  And only one non-chocolate candy made the list.

1.  Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

2.  Kit Kats

3.  Twix

4.  M&M’s

5.  Snickers

6.  Reese’s Peanut Butter Pumpkins  (You’d almost expect them to be first, but the normal cups are more common.  So, maybe we save them?)

7.  Hershey Bar

8.  Milky Way

9.  Nestlé Crunch Bar

10.  Starburst.  The only non-chocolate candy to crack the Top 10.  Gummy bears, Skittles, and Nerds came close though.
