RUSH surprised the crowd at Canada’s Juno Awards in Hamilton, Ontario, on Sunday night, March 29th, by taking the stage and playing “Finding My Way,” the legendary band’s first performance in nearly 11 years.

The performance also marked the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame act’s first since the 2020 passing of drummer Neil Peart, and served as the debut of their new touring lineup, which features classic members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson alongside drummer Anika Nilles and keyboardist Loren Gold.

“Finding My Way” is the first song on RUSH’s 1974 self-titled debut album. The band hadn’t played that tune in full in concert since 1976.

The last time RUSH performed was on August 1st, 2015, when they wrapped up their “R40 Live Tour,” commemorating the 40th anniversary of Peart joining the band. Sadly, Peart died on January 7th, 2020, after a private battle with brain cancer.

Lee and Lifeson did perform “Closer to the Heart” at the South Park 25th anniversary concert in August 2022. They also played a few RUSH classics, including “2112 Part I: Overture,” “YYZ,” and “Working Man,” with drummers Dave Grohl, Chad Smith, and Danny Carey, respectively, at a Taylor Hawkins tribute concert in September 2022. However, they were not billed as RUSH at either concert.

The prog-rock icons shocked fans when they announced a reunion tour this past October, along with introducing Nilles as their new drummer.

RUSH will kick off their massive 2026 North American tour with a four-night stand in Los Angeles beginning June 7th. The outing runs all the way through a December 17th show in Vancouver.
