The Michael Jackson biopic “Michael” underwent $15 million worth of editing and reshoots to remove all references to his child molestation scandal.
But the reason isn’t what you’d probably think. It turns out that Michael’s settlement with alleged victim Jordan Chandler included a clause that barred any depiction or mention of Jordan in a movie.
Because of that, the original finale had to be scrapped and a new third act had to be shot. In the new version, the dramatic tension comes from Michael’s relationship with his controlling dad, Joe Jackson.
Sources who’ve seen “Michael” also say that his most famous sibling, Janet, is NOT in the movie, which will hit theaters on the 24th of this month.
