Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have released a pair of official performance videos captured during the opening night of the 2026 “Land of Hope and Dreams Tour” in Minneapolis.
In addition to a thrilling cover of Prince’s “Purple Rain” featuring a guitar solo from Tom Morello, you can watch the full performance of Springsteen’s protest song “Streets of Minneapolis” below.
Ahead of the defiant kickoff show, Springsteen explained that the spring US tour was inspired by The E Street Band being “built for hard times.” To set the tone for the evening, The Boss opened the concert with a fiery speech.
“We are here in celebration and defense of our American ideals, our democracy, our Constitution, and our sacred American promise,” he said. “The America I love, the America I’ve written about for 50 years, that’s been a beacon of hope, of liberty around the world is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, racist, reckless, and treasonous administration. Tonight we ask all of you to join with us in choosing hope over fear democracy over authoritarianism, the rule of law over lawlessness, ethics over unbridled corruption, resistance over complacency, unity over division, and peace over war.”
Besides dusting off “Purple Rain” for the first time since 2016, the 27-song set included a closing cover of Bob Dylan’s “Chimes of Freedom” and “Long Walk Home,” which Springsteen introduced as “a prayer for my country.” Check out a full recap with the setlist, photos, and video here.
