Five Random Facts For Wednesday

Here are some random facts for you. 

 

1.  There are 23 states where a year of day care costs more than a year of in-state college tuition.

 

2.  Jesse Owens won the 200 meters at the 1936 Olympics in Nazi Germany.  And the guy who came in second was ANOTHER African American, Mack Robinson, Jackie Robinson’s older brother. 

 

3.  In the book “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”, the word “Wonderland” is only used twice. 

 

4.  The Backstreet Boys never had a number one hit.  The closest they came was when “Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)” got to number two in 1997.  NSYNC did have a number one song, with “It’s Gonna Be Me”.

 

5.  The reason “Rx” is used for prescriptions is because it’s a short version of the Latin word “recipe,” which means “take.”
