Heavy metal band Megadeath announced via social media on Monday, May 24 that they are officially parting ways with bassist David Ellefson.  The band’s co-founder and lead guitarist Dave Mustaine wrote on Megadeth’s official Twitter account:“We are informing our fans that David Ellefson is no longer playing with Megadeth and that we are officially parting ways with him. We do not take this decision lightly. While we do not know every detail of what occurred, with an already strained relationship, what has already been revealed now is enough to make working together impossible moving forward. We look forward to seeing our fans on the road this summer, and we cannot wait to share our brand new music with the world. It is almost complete.”

Wolfgang Van Halen has released a lyric video for the song “Mammoth”. The track comes from his solo project Mammoth WVH’s self-titled debut album, which will be released on June 11th.

Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead debuted their new band, the Smile, at the Glastonbury livestream event, Live at Worthy Farm. The group will be rounded out by drummer Tom Skinner, in collaboration with producer Nigel Godrich. “We’re truly honored that Thom and Jonny have chosen our livestream event to premiere their brand new project, the Smile,” Glastonbury co-organizer Emily Eavis said in a statement.

Welcome To Rockville is returning for 2021, at its new home at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Florida’s ‘Biggest Rock Experience’ will be held November 11-14, and features an impressive lineup headlined by Metallica (two nights / two unique sets), Nine Inch Nails and Disturbed. The weekend will also feature Deftones, Rob Zombie, Staind, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Mudvayne, Cypress Hill, The Offspring, Social Distortion, Lamb Of God, Chevelle, Mastodon, Stone Temple Pilots, Asking Alexandria and many more.

Lollapalooza 2021 is returning to Chicago this summer from July 29 to Aug. 1 at Grand Park, and organizers have announced on Twitter that Miley Cyrus, Foo Fighters, Post Malone and Tyler, the Creator are set as headliners.
