A TV Station Fired Seven People For Playing Cards Against Humanity at Work

If you’re going to play a board game at work, pick one where the goal ISN’T to be as offensive as possible.  Like Yahtzee.  Nobody’s ever been offended by Yahtzee.  Seven employees at the CBS station in Toledo, Ohio were stuck working over New Year’s weekend.  So they passed the time by playing Cards Against Humanity.

If you’re not familiar with the game, you use the cards to come up with the most offensive and graphic phrases you can.  It’s guaranteed to get completely inappropriate.

Well, they got caught.  And all seven of them were FIRED.  The group included three people who were on-air talent, including two anchors and a meteorologist, plus a producer and three researchers.

The station released a statement saying they fired the people because they violated,  “our obligation to provide an environment in which all employees are treated with respect and dignity.”
