If you’d have told me that this was the plot of an early-’90s comedy movie, I would’ve believed you. Police in New York City are looking for a 36-year-old named Stephen Blasetti, who’s coming off a WILD weekend.
Authorities say Stephen STOLE a boat, and took a NAKED joyride down the Hudson River last Saturday. He was allegedly on something at the time, possibly meth.
The cops caught up with Stephen, arrested him, and then took him to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
But early Wednesday morning, the cop who was guarding him at the hospital dozed off, and Stephen somehow swiped the keys to his handcuffs. Then, he grabbed a white lab coat and blue pants to disguise himself as a doctor so he could slip out of the hospital unnoticed.
Incredibly, it worked, and he was seen on surveillance video leaving the hospital.
Police are asking the public for any information that can help them find him. (Who, by the way, seems to be mentally fit to me, considering his escape, at least. Not sure about the naked joy ride.)
He was charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, and reckless endangerment.
(Here’s a censored pic of him being initially apprehended.)
