THIS is yet another reason why the relationship between HUMANS and ROBOTS is still so antagonistic.
A woman in the L.A. area is upset because a Coco food delivery robot went rogue, and messed up her garden. It happened this past weekend, and she says she could hear the commotion happening from inside her house.
She said, “It had got my fence caught up in its wheel, it uprooted a whole bunch of plates in my garden and then just drove away.”
But she put up a fight. “I chased after it, and looked like a total crazy person, running after a robot in the middle of the street and yelling at it. I was trying to block it, and get in its way, and it would just try to go around me.”
She lost the battle, but won the war. She complained to Coco, and the company said they’d reimburse her for her garden. They say they’re making “internal changes” to ensure that it doesn’t happen again.
(To be clear, this garden was between the sidewalk and the street, so it wasn’t that it had plowed through an entire yard and into the back.)
