Easter “Horror”: A Bakery’s Terrifying Lamb Cake Is Uniting the Country

Botched cakes have gone viral before, there are even websites devoted to them.  But this Easter “lamb” takes the cake.

There’s a bakery in the Detroit area called the Homestead Kitchen and Artisan Cakery.  They’re upscale, so it isn’t a grocery store or cheap chain place.

Last week, they hyped the upcoming Easter holiday by posting a lamb cake, straight out of a HORROR MOVIE.  The lamb had bulging eyes, crooked teeth, and sloppy, droopy frosting that looked like it had been left in a hot car all day.

The comments were great.  Here are some of the best ones:

1.  A culinary school said, “We just relaunched our cake decorating program, respectfully.”

2.  Someone said, “Where’s the knife, I need to put it out of its misery.”

3.  “You didn’t bake it . . . you SUMMONED it.”

4.  “He actually looks like he’s taken on the sins of the world.”

5.  “I thought putting my glasses on would help.”

6.  “Never seen a taxidermy lamb before.”

7.  “That little lamb has been through some things.”

8.  “Not sure what you thought the assignment was, but you NAILED IT!”

9.  “For the first time, my kids didn’t want dessert.”

10.  “It’s a British lamb for sure . . . the teeth!”

11.  “This puts the ewwww in ewe!”

12.  “Do you do funerals?”

The next day, they revealed that it was an April Fools’ Day prank, and then shared a photo of an ACTUAL lamb cake.  They said the creepy lamb was NOT their work, originally . . . but now people are REQUESTING it.

They made some, and the creepy lamb was such a hit that they say they’ll be bringing them back next Easter too.
